SUNPLAN - GUIDE TO STANDARD GLAZING SPECIFICATION

'U' VALUES (W/m2k)

Changes to Part 'L' of the Building Regulations became effective from April 2002. All new or replacement glazing for dwellings and commercial properties (except retail display windows or unheated conservatories) must comply with the following performance:

Timber U = 2.0 or better

Aluminium Frames U = 2.2 or better

'U' Values of Sunplan Frames only are as follows:

Timber Frames	SL65/66/67	U = 1.0
Thermal Break Aluminium Frames	SL50	U = 2.2
Thermal Break Aluminium Frames	SL70	U = 2.1
Non-thermal Break Aluminium Frames	SL45	U = 5.5
Non-thermal Break Aluminium Frames	SL35	U = 6.0
