Aluminium Systems

Sunplan Systems folding doors provide a real quality alternative to traditional; patio doors. They offer a high level of security and insulation when closed, slide open easily and have no unsightly uprights or fittings. It is simply a case of "now you see them, now you don't".

The door systems can be fitted with a choice of glazing including toughened, thermal or solar glass. Every installation is tailor made allowing for flexibility and they are ideal for patios conservatories, room dividers, balcony and swimming pool enclosures and a variety of commercial applications. Aluminium profiles used in the manufacture of the panel are robustly constructed, and systems have the added advantage of being thermally insulated.

Each system has a variety of features and performs various functions including the ability to be folded inside or outside. For added convenience and safety the floor track can be recessed. Our unique trolley system ensures that the doors glide effortlessly year after year and are able to resist the effects of extreme weather and temperature fluctuations. Eve residues of dirt and grime will not affect the smooth movement of the system.

Rigorous testing at our laboratory ensures that our systems are fully weatherproof. The special fittings used will ensure that whatever the weather the system will remain draft and rattle free as well as providing high energy saving thermal qualities.

Sliding Folding Doors

Aluminium
The Sunplan Systems aluminium range provides a choice of sliding folding glazed panels all of which include specially engineered rolling gear, locking devices and ironmongery for optimum performance. Selection of the most suitable profile is dependant on the requirements of thermal properties, weather rating, size of panel and domestic or commercial application. Where top hung systems are required, four rollers are constructed so that the stress is evenly distributed over each roller. Running gear has a carrying capacity of 200kg. All rollers have ball-bearings and are coated with glass fibre reinforced polyamide to ensure quiet and smooth running and resistance to the effects of extreme weather and temperature fluctuations. Bottom rolling systems rely on stainless steel wheels running on stainless steel inserts in the floor track positioned so that the exceptionally smooth operation is not impaired by dirt or grit. The fittings are storm-proof and do not rattle. The individual folding panels are locked into position by engaging upwards and downwards the rods of the lever mechanism which are corrosion-resistant. The locking rods are made of aluminium and are capped with polyamide cones to prevent metal contact during the locking actions.

The folding panels may be anchored in a partially open position for ventilation. Allowance has been made for expansion to ensure that operation and insulation are not impaired by changes in temperature.

Choice of finishes
Powder coated white to RAL 9016 as standard, with most other RAL colours available.

Choice of glazing
Always toughened or laminated safety glass fitted as standard, internally beaded with EPDM dry gaskets. Typical glazing would be 4/16/4mm toughened low 'e' Argon filled units giving a 'U' value of 1.3 W/m2K.
